The Playground

The Playground is a multidisciplinary incubator project which aims to provide the resources for supporting Ithaca-area artists in collaboration, trying new ideas in a low-risk, playful environment, and perhaps even creating new work together. The Playground provides three key resources needed for collaborative creation – space, time, and other people to play with – to encourage cross-collaboration with other local creative people. You can bring an idea that you would like to try out, or come and be a playmate and be part of bringing someone else's idea to life. 

How it works:

• We meet monthly at a different location each month

• In the sign-up sheet, indicate if you have an idea to try

  
  

Sessions will be three hours long, and will include intros, a brief warm-up, then dividing our resources between 1-2 projects each session (depending on sign-ups and what the projects need). If you have never led a project with others before, don't worry! You will be supported by the Playground facilitators. 

This is an experimental new thing, so we will adapt as the participants need. This project is facilitated by Jen Pearcy-Edwards from Story House Ithaca. Jen is a multidisciplinary deviser and director, with a background in Lecoq-based devised physical theater and puppetry, who enjoys bringing communities together.
