About this event

Have you thought about writing a memoir but didn't know where to begin? Have you wanted to preserve stories of your life for your children and grandchildren but weren’t sure what to write about? Have you struggled to turn your intention into action?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Memoir Kickstart is for you.

Memoir Kickstart is a six-week workshop series providing a structured approach to writing life stories that feels manageable, not overwhelming. In a supportive small-group setting, you will share your stories and find your authentic voice. No prior writing experience is necessary. All you need is a notebook.

Memoir Kickstart will run for six consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 pm starting on October 21 and ending on November 25, just in time for Thanksgiving. The cost for the series is $200. Snacks will be served.

The group size is limited, so register right away!

Workshop leader Lisa D'Annolfo Levey spent 30 years as a diversity consultant, listening to the stories of people at every level of organizations across many industries. She is a certified Guided Autobiography instructor with the Birren Center for Autobiographical Studies, a non-profit focused on helping people tap into, write, preserve, and share their life stories.

Lisa has written three oral histories of family and friends and blogged for Huff PostThe Glass Hammer, and the Good Men Project. Her 2012 book, The Libra Solution, describes an egalitarian approach to raising children in dual-earner families.

The meeting room is the first right after entering the front door. Parking is available in front of the building.
