Join Cynthia (Sam) Foley in a community writing project to share haiku or other short poems on the theme of peace.
The holiday season often feels hectic and world news is anything but peaceful. Take a break from the frenzy and join in this community collaboration to reflect, renew, recharge, write, and, most of all, have fun!
Haiku is a simple yet powerful means of expression that everyone can create, including children. Cynthia is a retired teacher and librarian who taught haiku in the Lansing schools. She’ll be on hand to offer guidance should it be desired. And cookies! Lots of cookies and beverages to provide inspiration.
All writing materials will be provided and there will be opportunities for sharing both poetry and conversation. Plus cookies. Let’s come together in community to create some poetry and positive energy with this Peace Poetry Pop-Up!
