About this event
NAMI Smarts for Advocacy is a hands-on advocacy training program that helps people living with mental illness, friends, and family transform their passion and lived experience into skillful grassroots advocacy.
Space is limited and registration is required for this virtual event. **Register here**.
We’ll guide you through a step-by-step, skill-building method designed for those who are new to advocacy as well as individuals with years of experience.
Participants routinely share that they’ve never been able to condense their story or make a clear ask, but with NAMI Smarts, they are now able to.
Join NAMI Finger Lakes during Mental Health Awareness Month for this free virtual event, Monday, May 2, 6:30-8:30 PM, as we learn how to share our story in a compelling, inspiring way to make an impact.
The workshop is part of “Breaking Our Silence: Storytelling for Mental Health,” a series of events and activities organized by Story House Ithaca and sponsored by The Sophie Fund with additional support from NAMI Finger Lakes and the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.
